I have been wanting to try out Rust-Oleum’s Oil Rubbed Bronze spray paint foreeever, so when I came across this brassy beauty at Goodwill I knew exactly what I wanted to do with her.
I think she's got some potential, what do you think? For $3.99 it was worth a shot.
First I had to break out some Goof Off to remove all of the sticker residue. Hate the smell of this stuff but it does the job!
Then took it apart and covered all the pieces I didn’t want to get paint on. (Notice the professional ziplock bag job.) By the way…did I mention that this globe is also a light? So cool!
Behold! The great Oil Rubbed Bronze! This stuff is amaaazing! Just wait, you’ll see, you’re gonna luuuv it to!
After a few coats of paint here she is now:
Here’s a close-up of the base. I just love the finish!
And here it is again:
Now see? Doesn’t a can of paint make a “world” of difference? Sorry, I couldn’t help myself!
Have a great weekend everybody and find something brassy to paint! :)
